Phumelele's Story It was when I explored career transitions and observed the increasing demand for coding skills, especially in remote work opportunities. Recognizing the pervasive influence of technology in today's job market and its lucrative potential, I became intrigued by the prospects that coding offers, which led to consider it as a valuable skill set for my career journey.

🙋‍♀️ Phumelele's Motivation

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes stems from recognizing the program's potential to be incredibly beneficial. Not only does it offer valuable skills in coding, but it also addresses a significant gender gap in the tech industry. SheCodes' focus on teaching women about a field traditionally dominated by men demonstrates their commitment to equality and empowerment. By participating in SheCodes, I am eager to acquire new skills while also contributing to the broader goal of gender diversity and inclusion in technology.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
