Kuhle's Story I first became interested in coding when I realised how much technology influences every part of our lives—from the way we communicate and work, to how we solve some of society’s biggest challenges. I was fascinated by the idea that behind every app, website, or digital service, there’s someone who brought it to life using code. That curiosity sparked a desire to better understand how it all works. My interest deepened when I started exploring ways to make data more accessible and actionable in my work. I saw how coding could unlock new ways to analyse information, automate tasks, and create user-friendly digital solutions. It became clear that learning to code wasn’t just about writing lines of script—it was about gaining a creative toolset to build, solve, and innovate. Seeing other women excel in tech also inspired me. Their stories showed me that you don’t have to come from a traditional tech background to succeed—you just need the willingness to learn and a passion for creating. That’s when I knew I wanted to take the first step and begin this journey with a platform like SheCodes.

🙋‍♀️ Kuhle's Motivation

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes stems from a deep desire to become more digitally empowered and future-ready. As the world becomes increasingly shaped by technology, I believe coding is not just a valuable skill but a form of literacy. I want to understand the logic behind the platforms and tools we use every day and be able to contribute meaningfully to tech-driven solutions—whether in business, community development, or creative innovation. SheCodes offers a supportive, inclusive environment that empowers women to thrive in tech, which is another reason I’m drawn to the programme. It aligns with my values of continuous learning and gender equity in the workplace. By gaining coding skills, I hope to enhance my ability to build, collaborate on, or even lead digital projects in the future. Whether it’s creating a website, understanding data better, or improving efficiency through automation, I want to use code to bring my ideas to life and add value in a meaningful way. Most importantly, I see this journey as part of my broader mission to bridge the digital divide and inspire others—especially young girls—to see themselves in tech. SheCodes is the ideal starting point for that vision.

🤹‍♀️ Kuhle's Hobbies

Some of my favourite hobbies include reading, especially books on personal development, leadership, and social impact—I love learning new perspectives and gaining insight into how people drive change. I also really enjoy writing, whether it’s journaling or crafting professional pieces related to ESG and sustainability—it’s both a creative outlet and a way to reflect. For fun, I enjoy spending time in nature—Cape Town is perfect for that! Whether it’s a beach walk, a hike, or just being outdoors, it helps me recharge. I’m also passionate about community upliftment, so I often get involved in outreach initiatives, especially those focused on education and youth empowerment. Music is another love of mine—whether I’m listening to gospel, old-school soul, or something upbeat to lift my mood, it always brings me joy. And on a slower day, nothing beats a good movie, a cup of tea, and some quiet time to reset.
